Novel’s plot far too intricately woven. Damn my wonderfully probing & complex storytelling talent
It’s not just me then? So, why do we find it so hard to write a synopsis? I have hundreds of versions of the damn thing and none of them do the story justice… death to the synopsis.
We spend weeks, months and years, scripting stories, creating characters, crying over conflict, planning the plot and tailoring the twists. So why do we flounder when it comes to writing the abominable synopsis?
Capturing the essence of a 90,000 word (±) novel in 500 is a bloody nightmare. Or is it because and I’m trying too hard too hard in my attempts to wow a potential agent?
I was about to search for an Idiot’s Guide when I found Graeme Shimmin’s words of advice on the subject and you know what? I think I might have cracked it.
