Sadly, due to problems with the current venue closing, Mihara Donegan Productions have announced that they will be postponing the performances of The Magic of LENA HORNE on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th July 2016 which were due to take place at the Landor Theatre in London, until a new date and venue can be arranged.
Gutted but that’s life … Lena WILL go ahead!!
We will keep you posted …
was one of the first African Americans to cross the music business colour divide and tour with an all-white band. She gave up school at 14 and at 16 started her first job as a dancer at the Cotton Club in Harlem and went on to become not only a singer, but a Hollywood actress and civil rights activist. During her career she shared the stage with the other great performers of her time such as Count Basie, Tony Bennett, Billy Eckstine, Judy Garland, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. Lena died in 2010 at the age of 92.
The good news is that her velvet-voice and style can be heard again in London as Mihara Donegan Productions present The Magic of LENA HORNE. Date and time to be confirmed.
And who better to recreate the lush Lena Horne sound than our very own Julez Hamilton.

“This voluptuous redhead with pin-up girl good looks has effervescent talent to match… as well as having substantial acting chops.” Cabaret Scenes
This is a performance not to be missed. So join Julez, Chris Welsh (CJ) and Gary Bland for an evening to celebrate the music of Lena Horne.
Reads like it’s going to be a nice event. The classic stylings of Lena Horne have always sounded sweet to me!
